Investment Advice in the UK

by Gareth Flanagan on April 25, 2009

With recent economic events the need for investment advice has never been more important. A recent survey completed by the Invesment market regulator, the Financial Services Authority (FSA), demonstrated the need for regular  investment advice was in more demand by UK consumers. Another survey found that more and more consumers, who in the past recieved investment advice from banks, are looking elsewhere, and seeking the help of Independent Financial Advisers outside of the banking system.

Execution only investments have been in the decrease, with more investors placing a value on holistic investment advice generally demonstrated by Financial advisers independent to the banking system. These are surely changing times. More and more investors are also looking at several companies to hear their thoughts prior to making any investment decisions.

We feel that those looking for a high quality of investment advice should be educated to the point were they understand the workings and principles of companies with which they could potentially invest in. Consumers in our opinion should work with companies that commit to evaluating investments on an ongoing basis, at least annually.
