Investing in Britain – Cazenove UK Growth & Income Fund
The Cazenove UK Growth & Income Fund aims for long term capital and income growth through investments primarily in the UK. At the end of April 2010, over 98% of the fund was invested in UK equities listed on the London stock exchange. The benchmark for the investment fund is the UK All Companies Index.
Where does the Cazenove UK Growth & Income Fund invest?
As of April 30, 2010 the investment fund had the following companies as its top 10 holdings: Babcock International, Glaxo Smithkline, Experian, Anglo American, VT Group (telecomms and infastructure), SSL International (consumer goods), Galiform (formerly MFI, kitchen furniture), BT, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, and G4S.
The industrial sectors in the investment fund were (largest first): oil & gas, consumer services, financials, industrials, consumer goods, healthcare, basic materials, telecomms, utilities and technology.
Investing in the Cazenove UK Growth & Income Fund
Launched in December 2002, the Cazenove UK Growth & Income Fund has a Crown rating of 1 and an OBSR AA rating. In April 2010 the investment fund had £554.3m under management.
The investment fund requires a minimum lump sum investment of £1,000 and the minimum additional top-up is £500. There is an initial charge of 5% and an annual charge of 1.5%.
Who manages the Cazenove UK Growth & Income Fund
The investment fund is managed by David Docherty and Tim Russell.
David Docherty joined Cazenove in 2000 and has specific responsibilities covering UK aerospace, automotive, industrial and oil and gas sectors. David was previously at M&G Investment Management and prior to that was a fund manager at Gartmore. He is a Director of Cazenove and is the primary manager of the Cazenove UK Growth & Income Fund.
Tim Russell has been with Cazenove since 2003 and focusses on UK equity strategy, portfolio construction and performance across a range of Cazenove funds. He was previously with HSBC Asset Management (Europe) and managed the AAA-rated HSBC UK Growth & Income Fund. He has over 20 years of investment experience.
