Invest in the American Dream – Investec American Fund

“The US stock market is as large as that of the rest of the world combined.”

Investec Asset Management

The Investec American Fund is a respected investment fund that focuses on US equities and aims for long term capital growth.

The Investec American Fund looks at the whole US stock market, seeking companies with a sound business basis which are priced at a discount to their intrinsic value. The investment fund reduces the whole US investment universe to a shortlist of 150 companies, which are then subjected to a rigorous fundamental analysis and an intensive research process to produce a final portfolio of 40-50 best picks. As different types of company are better suited to differing valuation methods, these are divided into what Investec calls 3 ‘style groups’ – Basic Value, Consistent Earners and Emerging Franchises. By spreading the investment fund’s portfolio across the 3 groups the Investec American Fund balances its investments so that it is well positioned for changing market conditions.
