Jupiter Ecology Fund – Rise of Asia and China
Asia and China in particular are playing a more significant role within the Jupiter Ecology Fund, as fund manager Charlie Thomas points out: “China and other cash-rich emerging markets are looking to increasing renewable energy capacity. China’s growing dominance in the renewable energy sector is particularly evident. The country alone was responsible for over 30% of all new wind power installations in 2009.” With a Jupiter Ecology Fund investment, you are well positioned to tap into the potential that these new markets create.
In order to ensure that the companies in which the fund invests are in keeping with Jupiter’s ethical exclusions policy, the fund manager’s stock selections and investment decisions must be approved in advance by Jupiter’s Socially Responsible Investment and Governance Team.
As of 30 April 2010, the geographical spread of assets comprising a Jupiter Ecology Fund investment were as follows:
North America 31.15%
Europe 22.13%
United Kingdom 21.78%
Pacific 15.02%
totalling 90.08%, with the remaining 9.92% held in cash.
