The need for shares investment advice has been highlighted in a report which states that 90 well-known UK investment funds are now seriously underperforming. Collectively, these so-called ‘dog’ funds contain £14.25bn of investors money, up 96% since last year.

Barclays has revealed that it did not advise its clients of changes to the risk profile of some of its investment funds, following a review of its funds products during 2007. The news has emphasised the need for funds investors to constantly and regularly review their funds investments, with the help of an independent financial adviser.

Europe is capable of cutting its carbon emissions by 40% by 2020, according to a new study by Friends of the Earth and the Stockholm Environment Institute, published at this week’s Copenhagen climate change conference.
Europe’s current commitment is to reduce emissions by just 20%, compared to 1990 levels.
